As part of FIPA-Tunisia in-service executive training in investment promotion, a virtual "Capacity-building" program was conducted from June 29 to July 02.

Supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), this program mainly focused on the core activities of the Agency, namely the promotion and direct marketing of foreign operators.

IFC, a subsidiary of the World Bank Group, is one of the largest aid structures for the development of the private sector in emerging countries.

The training was facilitated by Ms. Lina Sawaqed, investment promotion specialist, (World Bank), Mr. David O'Donovan, senior investment promotion expert and former senior manager of Ireland's inward investment promotion agency “IDA" as well as Mr. Cristián Rodríguez-chiffelle, former Director of the Chilean investment promotion agency "InvestChile." The training was devoted to the presentation and discussion of various themes.

The three sessions therefore focused on best practices in the area of after-care and investment retention, prioritization of sectors to be promoted internationally as well as the different steps to be taken to strengthen the value proposals to be submitted to companies in the context of direct marketing, in a Post-COVID 19 environment.

The sessions presented opportunities for sharing experiences between FIPA-Tunisia executives and experts in the various addressed themes enhanced by the organization workshops to build on restitution and put into practice the various feedbacks.

In this context, it should be recalled that a recent World Bank report mentioned FIPA-Tunisia as a best-practice case in terms of responses to the current crisis by global investment promotion agencies.
