Gafsa in a Nutshell
The Governorate of Gafsa is located south-west of Tunisia, between the high steppes and the Sahara. Surrounded by five governorates in the center of three economic regions, the city of Gafsa is a hyphen between the country of the grain and that of the dates and it is one of the oldest cities of the country. Primarily known as a mining region, phosphate is its first wealth.
