The governorate has a developed academic and professional network.

Manouba houses the largest academic pole of the country (University of Manouba) with 12 academic institutions training more than 25,000 students in various disciplines. We mention among these institutions :

A Quality Infrastructure

The governorate has a complete basic infrastructure. It features a modern road and rail network (metro, train, the Tunis-Beja highway and national roads) to connect the region with other governorates of the country.

The governorate is also located within 20 minutes drive from the International Tunis-Carthage Airport and 25 mn from the Port of Radés.

Several industrial areas are available and equipped to accommodate new projects including those of Mornaguia (II) Tébourba, Jedaida, Ksar Said, and El Fejja which encloses an industrial park specializing in finishing textile.

A Diversified Economic Activity

The economic fabric of the region is focused on agricultural and industrial activity. Indeed, the industrial fabric of the governorate is diversified and booming. It currently features about 200 companies employing more than 200,000 people including 103 foreign firms or with mixed capital.

The main industries are textiles, clothing, leather, food processing and electrical and mechanical industries.

With a wealth of water resources (28 hill lakes, a dam, a water table of 17.6 million cubic meters and a deep layer of 9.5 million cubic meters), the governorate has an agricultural potential focused mainly on irrigated farming (26,000 hectares located in the fertile lands of the lower valley of the Medjerda). These advantages have encouraged the diversification of production and integration of organic agriculture in the regional agricultural production system
