The German industrial group R. STAHL, which specialises in explosion protection systems, opened its Tunisian office on Monday in Kram, in Greater Tunis, with the aim of developing its software and digital services business, whilst also planning to expand across North Africa.
This move forms part of the group’s technological transformation, which aims to strengthen its range of digital solutions, in particular through the development of software available on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) basis.
According to Tobias Popp, acting managing director and sales director at R. STAHL, as quoted by the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency, digitalisation is the group’s immediate priority, with the possibility of gradually integrating solutions based on artificial intelligence.
The new Tunisian office could also develop into a shared services centre, thereby expanding its activities beyond software development.
The decision to choose Tunis reflects, in particular, the group’s desire to draw on local expertise in information technology and software development to support its digital projects.
