The Zaghouan governorate, known for its roses, especially the rosehip, is a land rich in history and wealth. Profiting from a strategic position between the governorates of the north, the north-west and the centre, it extends over an area of 2,820 km2 with a population of 180,687 inhabitants.The agricultural governorate, has transitioned to industrialization, thanks to a rich the industrial network including agri-food, mechanical and electrical industries, ceramics, textiles, pharmaceuticals, leather, and footwear.

The Governorate of Zaghouan, blessed with great connectivity, is linked to the Tunis region and the western part of the country by a well-developed railway line and road network, encompassing 112 km of national roads, 273 km of regional roads, and 350 km of local roads.
Just 60 km from the Tunis Carthage International Airport, Zaghouan profits from a strategic geographical position that enhances its accessibility to both national and international markets.
The governorate hosts 10 industrial zones spread over 475 hectares. These zones cover a diverse range of sectors, including agri-food, mechanical and electrical industries, ceramics, construction materials, textiles, pharmaceuticals, as well as leather and footwear.This favourable industrial network promotes the economic development of the governorate.

● Education: With 108 primary schools, 91 nurseries and children’s clubs, as well as 31 high schools and secondary schools, Zaghouan invests in education to train its future generations.

● Health: The region ensures the health of its population with a regional hospital, two local hospitals, 45 primary health centres, a clinic, five analysis and radiology laboratories, two dialysis centres, and 31 pharmacies.
● Vocational Training: Six centres offer a range of training, such as tailoring, IT, agriculture, mechanics, and electricity. The qualified and hardworking workforce contributes to the economic vitality of the region.
● Tourism and Leisure: Two hotels, including the Djebel Ouest thermal resort and the Zriba tourist facility, as well as two guesthouses, attract visitors from around the world.
● Local crafts, focused on carpets, alfa items and wool decoration, reflect the cultural authenticity of Zaghouan.

Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation – APII
Established in 1972, APII is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines. It is responsible for implementing government policy relating to the promotion of the industrial sector and innovation. The APII is the main point of contact for investors regarding the legal constitution of companies and the management of financial and fiscal benefits.

Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency – APIA
APIA is a public institution established in 1983, with the principal mission of promoting private investment in agriculture, fishing and associated services.

● Granting financial and fiscal benefits established by the Investment Law No. 2016-71 to promoters of agricultural, fishing, and related services projects, as well as projects involving the primary processing of agricultural and fishing products.
● Identifying investment opportunities and project ideas to be promoted by Tunisian and foreign private operators, thereby contributing to the achievement of national objectives assigned to the agricultural sector.
● Assisting promoters in the preparation of their investment files and providing guidance during the implementation phase of their projects.
Agence Foncière Industrielle – AFI
The Industrial property Agency is a public organisation established in 1973 to strengthen the industrial network and contribute to the economic and social development of Tunisia.
